Fairbanks Studios

Working for AXA IM Alts, in collaboration with Oxygen Studios and UMC Architects, we crafted a suite of CGI imagery that captures the authentic, cinematic atmosphere of a world-class production ecosystem. By balancing the Art Deco heritage of the landmark Media Hub with the immense technical scale of the state-of-the-art soundstages, we created a visual narrative designed to attract the world's leading content creators to this 266,000 sq ft campus. The images we produced provide a window into the next chapter of film history—from the industrial precision of the high-spec workshops to the vibrant, lived-in energy of a fully operational studio environment.

Process

Fairbanks is a unique project that required a specialized workflow—particularly for the Backlot and Studio sound stage, which consist of vast, expansive areas. During the view selection stage, rather than presenting these as simple empty environments, we provided an early vision of how the images could be brought to life.

By utilizing a hybrid workflow of 3D and conceptual sketches, we gave everyone a clear sense of the final atmosphere and what to expect in the next stage of production. This method proved invaluable to all parties involved, streamlining the process and ensuring our creative vision was aligned from the very start.

Behind the Scenes of the Behind the Scenes

Whatever the project, the 3D model is the foundation. We take the 3D data directly from architects and designers and bring it to life. This model data is vital for everyone from start to finish—it’s how we set the views, handle comments to ensure accuracy, and produce the final images. Once the model is established, it allows for multiple views and design variations.

Going Live

We’re proud to see our imagery helping bring the new Fairbanks website to life (we also wish our website looked this cool). It’s always rewarding to see a project evolve from the first sketch to final completion, seeing the work serve the exact purpose it was designed for.
